Landscape Foreman

You are a leader and have a keen eye for creating beautiful landscapes. You are good with your hands and are not afraid to get them dirty. You have both a mechanical and horticultural aptitude. If this sounds like you, Broadstreet Properties is seeking a Landscape Foreman to join our operations throughout Manitoba with potential travel to Saskatchewan.

As the Landscape Foreman you must be able to lead and manage the improvement and beautification of multi-family residential properties throughout the designated portfolio.  This role requires a strong ability to organize, plan, and provide quality stewardship for all aspects of grounds and landscaping needs.  The Grounds Foreman will plan, design, and implement training manuals, workflows, and improve both esthetics and ground maintenance year round.  The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing commercial landscaping, have experience with grounds design and possess a high aptitude for construction maintenance.

  • Manage the execution and completion of on-site landscape construction projects
  • Design and implement landscaping and ground maintenance standards and procedures
  • Plan labour, material and equipment requirements and ensure completion of job(s)
  • Complete daily site walks to diagnose, action, and/or repair issues
  • Improve curb appeal through landscaping, painting signage, painting curbs, etc.
  • Repair lawns by adding seed, soil, and/or peat moss where needed and maintain through cutting, trimming, raking, weeding, feeding, and watering
  • Monitor property moisture levels to determine the needs for irrigation
  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on lawn/irrigation equipment as needed
  • Survey each property to identify and execute tree and shrub replacements
  • Manage and complete pruning of all shrubs and trees
  • Install tree supports where required and remove all supports no longer needed
  • Control insect and fungal infestations through applying pesticides and herbicides
  • Work with Operations to create and implement Hanging Basket and Flower Program
  • Work with Maintenance Coordinator and ensure all parking lot sweeps are executed effectively
  • Aid in the coordination and direction of all crew members


  • 3+ years of previous maintenance and landscaping experience
  • Red Seal in Landscaping/Horticulture an asset
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain residential buildings
  • Possess a valid Class 3 Drivers license and have a reliable vehicle
  • Ability to use basic Microsoft Office Programs, iPhone applications, real-time payroll software
  • Attend Fall Protection and AWP training
  • Obtain an applicator’s license to apply pesticides and herbicides

Working Conditions:

  • 24/7 availability may be required
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lb
  • Travel to various properties throughout Manitoba will be required with potential travel to Saskatchewan
  • Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
