Journeyman Plumber

The Journeyman Plumber will be responsible for the maintenance and repairs associated with plumbing of multi-family units throughout the assigned region.

Responsibilities

  • Secure pipes or related equipment, by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, or threading joints, dependent on specifications.
  • Tend to the maintenance and preventative maintenance programs
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
  • Maintain a supply of regularly used parts and filters in stock, ordering replenishment as necessary.
  • Propose changes or modifications to plans to enhance operation and efficiency of systems plans and specifications for sanitation facilities.
  • Develop goals and priorities; assign tasks and projects.
  • Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.
  • Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance and repair techniques.
  • Complete service calls on Plumbing, heating and HVAC systems including boilers, pumps, Hot water tanks, fixtures, MUA units and furnaces  
  • Preform preventative maintenance duties on all buildings in the Manitoba region 

Requirements

  • Red Seal Plumber certification
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations.
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allows one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Computer literate.
